Philips Lumalive explores the fashion market with Swarovski
The Lumalive Bag concept
28 March, 2008
Last year, Swarovski and Philips joined forces bringing together Fashion and Technology. Both names merged their expertise in design and high tech creating the Active Crystals product line of USB memory keys and headphones, becoming veritable jewels of technology.
In 2008, the two companies have chosen to collaborate yet again on a completely new project, the Lumalive bag concept, exploring the possibilities of combining crystals with light in fashion accessories.
The Swarovski and Philips teams have worked together on the development of this urban style bag concept. Glamour and feminine, the bag called ‘Favourite’ is made from violet leather with a large band decorated with faceted crystal detail. The front of the bag features a large piece of crystal mesh behind which a flexible background is placed displaying the pre-registered message, made possible by the Lumalive technology. The bag can be held by a practical wrist-loop in crystal mesh.
This new accessory reveals an original and playful way of communicating. The Lumalive technology makes it possible to display luminous messages by integrating colourful light in textiles and introduces a distinctive medium to express yourself by communicating emotions or ideas in a joyous and unexpected manner.
This glamorous customisation makes this bag an unusual accessory, an illustration of futuristic Fashion design.
